Ronald A. Balducci, of Lancaster, founder and president of Balducci Construction Co., Inc.
Died unexpectedly Thursday while working at a job site in downtown Buffalo. He was 62.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of Maryvale High School and began his career in the construction
Industry as an underage dump truck driver at age 14. He founded Balducci Construction Co., Inc. in 1972 and soon was joined by his brother, Robert. His son Ronald Jr., joined the firm in 1999.
Based in Elma, the company has completed major projects for Wal-Mart, Ryerson Steel and Bennett Farms and has received numerous awards including a historical restoration award for work at East Aurora’s Roycroft campus. Ron also owned Ronny’s Take-Out Pizzeria in Lancaster. Ronny’s Take-Out has a strong presence in the Lancaster community winning many awards for their generosity and community involvement.
An outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and member of the Safari Club International.
He won several awards for exotic quarry, including wildebeest, kudu, and impala.
Ron owned property in Chautauqua County; where he enjoyed spending quality time pursuing his passion with family and friends.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife MaryJo of 37 years, his son Ronnie and daughter in law Kari, and his daughter Gina and son in law Shaun.
Ron was a loving Papa to five adored grandchildren; Giada, Gabriella, Giuliana, Mila and Brodie Balducci Benderson.
Besides being a devoted family man and extremely hard worker, Ron was a mentor and leader to most who knew him.
